Rules and Regulations of the digital photography competition

1.This competition is open to all Secondary School Students. (Students who are taking their "O" Levels results are not eligible)

2.Photos must be relevant to the theme.

3.Each participant may submit a maximum of 4 entries to the competition. Each participant, however, may only be awarded one prize in this competition.

4.Works shall be original and unpublished. The participant must be the original author and sole owner of all his or her photo entries.

5.Entries must be submitted to capturenature@gmail.com, in softcopy low-resolution format, based on a resolution of at least 800x600 pixels image size and in JPEG format.

6.Minimal digital manipulation (e.g. enhancement of colour and contrast of entered works is allowed)

7.Images scanned from film and slides are allowed.

8.No other forms of submission will be accepted.

9.The closing date for all entries is on 31 January 2007. All entries received after the deadline will not be accepted.

10.Each participant shall jointly and severally, defend, indemnify and hold harmless Ngee Ann Polytechnic and its associates from and against any claim, demand or action by a third party, to the extent that it is based on a claim that the entered work violates, infringes or misappropriates any copyright and/or intellectual property rights of such third party. Without limitation, such indemnitors shall pay all cost and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees and related costs of litigation) suffered or incurred by indemnitees in connection with such claim, demand or action.

11.Ngee Ann Polytechnic reserves the right to change or replace prizes with another of equal or greater value should the featured prize(s) become unavailable.

12.Prizes are not exchangeable for cash.

13.Prizes not collected after 30 March 2007 will be donated to charity.
The judges' decision is final and no correspondence shall be entertained.

14.Upon notification, all winners must submit the original high-resolution uncompressed digital files (minimum 3000 pixels) of their winning entries for verification. Digitally enhanced images must be submitted with the final file, and to ensure that it can be enlarged to 30 cm x 40cm. Failure to do so will result in entries being disqualified. The digital files submitted are non-refundable

15.Winning entries will be displayed at Ngee Ann Polytechnic and National Library.

16.Submission of entries signifies the acceptance of the rules and regulations of the competition.

17.The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any entries that does not adhere to the rules and regulations of the competition.

The digital files submitted must be named, e.g. Terry Tay Wee Seng submitted 4 images, each image should be named as Terrytayweeseng_01.jpg to Terrytayweeseng_4.jpg

19.To facilitate the awarding of cash prize money and distribution of trophies to all winners, all participants must complete the entry forms with their particulars and contact numbers otherwise entry will be disqualified.
